New York Isn’t Messing Around: Free Consent Education for New York Youth

Free Peer-Led Consent Training Now Available for NY Schools, Youth Organizations and Clubs

Bringing Free Consent Education to New York Schools

In New York, there’s no time to waste when it comes to giving students the education they need to thrive. That’s why SafeBAE has partnered with Help For Children (HFC) and the CDC, in collaboration with NYSCASA, to provide free, peer-led consent education to schools and youth organizations across New York City. This funding makes it possible for us to bring our proven, student-led training directly to your students—at no cost.

In a state as diverse and dynamic as New York, ensuring that every student has access to the knowledge and tools to prevent sexual violence is critical. SafeBAE is here to empower students to become leaders, and we’re calling on schools, teachers, coaches, and youth clubs to invite us in.

Backed by Data and Published Research: Our Programs Work

The results of SafeBAE’s programs speak for themselves. Schools that have implemented our Peer Educator Training have seen real, measurable changes in how students approach issues of consent, boundaries, and sexual violence prevention. Our peer-led model allows these challenging conversations to feel accessible and relevant, creating lasting change in school environments.

What’s more, our program’s success has been validated by the academic community. SafeBAE’s work was recently published in the prestigious Journal of Child Sexual Abuse, proving that our approach to peer-led consent education is not only impactful but also revolutionary in the field of sexual violence prevention.

Thanks to the support from Help For Children (HFC), the CDC, and in partnership with NYSCASA, we’re able to bring this proven, research-backed programming directly to New York City schools for free—helping students take ownership of their safety and empowering them to lead change within their communities.

Training Tomorrow’s Leaders: What SafeBAE’s Peer Educator Program Offers

The SafeBAE Peer Educator Training isn’t just another lesson plan—it’s a comprehensive program designed to equip students with the tools they need to become advocates for consent, healthy relationships, and bystander intervention in their schools and communities. This program provides students with in-depth training on understanding sexual violence, identifying unhealthy behaviors, and empowering their peers to stand up against these issues.

We are bringing this critical training to New York schools at no cost. Our goal is to provide a structured curriculum that allows students to not only learn about these issues but to take action and lead initiatives to foster safer environments.

Here’s what the Peer Educator Training covers:

  • Consent & Boundaries: Students learn what consent looks like, how to communicate boundaries effectively, and how to respect the boundaries of others.
  • Bystander Intervention: Peer educators are taught to recognize situations where intervention is necessary and how to safely and effectively step in to prevent harm.
  • Healthy Relationships: This part of the training dives into identifying signs of healthy vs. unhealthy relationships and provides students with the knowledge to foster respect and equality in their own relationships.
  • Advocacy Skills: Beyond learning for themselves, peer educators are trained to bring these lessons back to their communities by organizing clubs, campaigns, and events that advocate for safety and respect.

This training is designed to create ripple effects throughout schools. Students who complete the Peer Educator Training can go on to start SafeBAE clubs, give presentations, and advocate for policy changes within their schools. The best part? All of this is funded, meaning schools don’t have to worry about costs, making it accessible to everyone.

Our mission is to transform students into leaders, giving them the tools they need to inspire and protect their peers while creating real, sustainable change in New York’s schools.

Act Now: Not Every State Has Access to Free Consent Education

New York schools have a unique opportunity. Thanks to the funding we’ve received, SafeBAE can bring our life-changing Peer Educator Training to your students at no cost. But it’s important to remember—this level of accessibility is rare. Many states don’t have the funding to offer these programs for free, making this an invaluable opportunity for New York schools to equip students with the knowledge and leadership skills that can protect them for life.

SafeBAE’s consent education and peer-led training are proven to create safer, more inclusive environments. Don’t miss the chance to bring this program to your students, your school, and your community.
