Help Reform Your School's Sexual Misconduct Policy

Protecting your school community starts with strong, trauma-informed policies. The 2020 Title IX rule issued by the Department of Education was widely recognized as harmful — narrowing protections for survivors, restricting schools’ ability to respond effectively, and putting students at greater risk of further harm. Although new guidelines were introduced in 2024 to restore protections, they were quickly challenged in court and schools nationwide have been forced back under the restrictive 2020 rule.

With the Department of Education weakened and inconsistent in its enforcement, survivors are left vulnerable and districts face heightened legal risks due to vague and harmful federal standards.

That’s why SafeBAE created a Student Policy Reform Guide — a step-by-step resource to help you advocate for safer, trauma-informed, and survivor-centered policies in your district. Whether you’re a student, parent, or community stakeholder, you can use this guide to push for clarity, accountability, and real protection in your schools.

We ask only that you register to receive the guide and keep in touch with us about your progress. Together, we can strengthen protections for students and make schools safer across the country — even as federal protections are rolled back.
