Thank you to all who attended our 2020 Virtual Summit! It was an amazing success with 40-60 attendees per session! We will be collecting feedback, sending out prizes, and writing our data reports shortly, so please check back if you'd like!

And if you missed any sessions, we recorded all presenters who were comfortable and are archiving them to share upon request.

APRIL 28TH

 2PM EST: AFFIRMATIVE CONSENT: LET'S GET ENTHUSIASTIC

Maddy Magnuson from Maine Family Planning will host this session where we will learn the definition of affirmative consent, the difference between a YES! and a NO, and how to talk through what’s in between. We will explore how to know when you are ready or excited to do something. After this workshop you will feel more confident in talking about sex and knowing when there is consent and when there is not.

4PM EST: TRANSITIONS: DATING SAFETY IN HIGH SCHOOL AND BEYOND

Join us for a discussion about how to safely navigate the transition from high school to adulthood. Whether you are going off to college or starting a career, change is challenging and can disrupt our support networks, community and available resources. This session will focus on how to navigate this new transition while developing or maintaining intimate relationships. 

6PM EST: #KnowB4Unude

In this session hosted by SafeBAE co-founders Ella Fairon and Daisy Coleman, we will discuss the risks and impacts of sending nudes.

8PM EST - BAECODE: BECOMING AN ACTIVE BYSTANDER

In this session hosted by SafeBAE co-founder Ella Fairon and her brothers Jack and Ford Fairon, we will discuss how we're flipping BROcode to BAEcode and how to step in when someone needs help.


APRIL 29TH

2PM EST - HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS

The key to healthy relationships is clarifying your desires and listening to your gut. Let’s talk about the want’s and wont’s of our intimate relationships. This workshop, hosted by Maine Boys to Men, will allow you to critically consider the aspects of healthy relationships and the red flags of abusive ones. Even if you are not currently in a relationship, this workshop will allow you to imagine ahead of time the things you want and don’t want in your relationships. You will have the opportunity to hear from other teenagers what they are seeking in relationships, and important ways to stay grounded if things are not going well, how to get help for a friend or yourself if or when needed.

 4PM EST - YOUTH & ONLINE SAFETY

In this session, hosted by Alex Weathersby from the Rappahannock Council Against Sexual Assault, we will discuss how to use consent in online settings, including social media, through video and example situations.

6PM EST - REFRAMING MASCULINITY

In this session, hosted by Michael Patrick with Project Peace, attendees will discuss masculinity and manhood to better understand what characteristics, qualities, feelings, and experiences attribute to being a man in today's society.


APRIL 30TH

2PM EST - IT'S NOT LOVE

This session, hosted by Jordan Babin & Elizabeth Belanger from JCADA, will be an interactive workshop where youth gain a better understanding of TDV; Choose-your-own-adventure activity followed by discussion on warning signs, trusted adults, and helping a friend

4PM EST - SEX TRAFFICKING

This session, hosted by Dee Clarke from Survivor Speak USA, will discuss the warning signs of grooming and how you can help prevent young people being sold for sex.

6PM EST - INTERSECTIONS OF GUN & DATING VIOLENCE

In this session hosted by March For Our Lives NY State Director Daphne Frias, we will explore the intersections of dating violence, relationship violence and mass shootings.

8PM EST BONUS EVENT: Netflix Watch party of Audrie & Daisy 

Join our bonus event watch party, followed by a live Zoom Q&A with film subject Daisy AND the debut of the trailer for our newest film project “Saving Daisy.” We will email all attendees with the watch party link and zoom link on 4/30!Our partners at Change the Talk will be providing support for anyone needing help throughout the screening and chat.

2PM EST - Arlington Athletes of Action

In this session hosted by Kyle Petty from Arlington Athletes of Action, participants will be provided with a template for how to engage athletes in meaningful conversations and activities to shift the culture of power, dominance and control that is promoted in certain athletic environments, and reduce sexually violent behavior that can result

5 PM EST- HEALING PTSD THROUGH EMDR THERAPY

In this session, hosted by experts Rose Junie Abito, LMFT & Michelle Golland, we will explore the concepts of EMDR and its efficacy in treating survivors who suffer from PTSD.

6PM EST - EMPOWERING ALL FEMMES

Join Change the Talk for a panel discussion with their peer educators and their Education Coordinator Mi"Quael Gray, about body positivity, empowering your fellow femmes, and trusting your power.

8PM EST - DATING AFTER SEXUAL ASSAULT

In this session, Hosted by SafeBAE co-founder Ella Fairon and her fiancé Henry O'Neal, we will explore the difficulties of intimacy after assault and how to support a partner who has experienced violence.


MAY 2ND

2PM EASTERN - Healthy Boundaries = Healthy Relationships

Beyond the context of dating, setting healthy boundaries are useful skills for life! Whether you are navigating through relationships with family members, coworkers or classmates, learning and practicing strategies to set clear and strong boundaries is incredibly empowering. This session is presented by Daisy Lung, Sexual Assault Services Coordinator of Northern Virginia Community College.

4PM EST - GENDER AND SEXUALITY SPECTRUMS: What are they and how do they affect youth relationships?

In this session, hosted by Morgan Atkins, Sara Font, Sofia Sosa, and Julie Alexandrin from Safe Space NOVA Youth, we will explore the LGBTQIA+ Community and delve into how gender and sexuality affects relationships and consent between youth.

6PM EST - SEXUAL VIOLENCE IN THE MEDIA 

In this session, hosted by SafeBAE board member and actress Torrey DeVitto, we will explore how the portrayal of sexual violence in the media shapes our cultural understanding and perpetuates myths, victim blaming, and justice for survivors.

8PM EST - PARENTS OF SURVIVORS PANEL DISCUSSION

In this session, we will be joined by several parents of young survivors, to discuss their experiences and take questions from the audience.
