SafeBAE Awarded Stanley Creators Fund Grant—Fueling the Future of Prevention Education

Stanley’s support means the Summer Activist Institute lives on.

SafeBAE x Stanley: A Game-Changing Partnership for Prevention Education

Big news! SafeBAE has been selected as one of only ten recipients of the Stanley Creators Fund, an initiative that honors innovative and effective nonprofit work. But this wasn’t just any nomination—our own youth staff submitted SafeBAE’s Executive Director, Shael Norris, as the creator behind this movement. Her leadership in founding and sustaining SafeBAE, along with her deep commitment to youth-led prevention education, made her the perfect fit for this recognition.

With this one-time $50,000 grant, SafeBAE will be able to continue the Summer Activist Institute, our annual program that trains young activists in sexual violence prevention, advocacy, and leadership. After years of running this program with dedicated funding, we recently faced the devastating reality that our previous funders had moved on to other organizations. Without Stanley’s support, this program would have been in jeopardy.

Thanks to this grant, the Summer Activist Institute will return in 2025, empowering the next generation of student leaders to create change in their schools and communities. And while details are still being finalized, we’re exploring new locations to make the program even more accessible.

This partnership is a powerful statement—youth-led education matters, and innovative prevention work deserves to be recognized and sustained.

Why Grants Like This Keep SafeBAE’s Work Alive

For small, grassroots organizations like SafeBAE, funding isn’t just about expanding programs—it’s about survival. Unlike massive nonprofits with deep pockets and corporate sponsorships, we rely on grants, individual donors, and one-time funding opportunities like the Stanley Creators Fund to keep our work going.

The reality is, prevention education is wildly underfunded. While countless dollars are poured into reactive systems—law enforcement, legal fees, crisis intervention—very little funding is directed toward stopping violence before it happens. SafeBAE exists to fill that gap, and the only way we can continue to do that is through grants like this one.

The $50,000 from Stanley is the difference between running the Summer Activist Institute this year or losing it completely. This program has trained countless young activists who have gone on to start SafeBAE clubs in their schools, educate their peers, and advocate for real policy changes. But without consistent funding, even the most impactful programs can disappear.

This is why support from organizations like Stanley is crucial—not just for us, but for every youth-led movement fighting to make real change.

What’s Next & How You Can Support SafeBAE’s Mission

Thanks to Stanley’s support, the Summer Activist Institute will return in 2025, ensuring that young activists continue to receive the training and resources they need to lead prevention work in their schools and communities. We’re also exploring new locations to expand access and make this life-changing program available to even more students.

But one grant alone isn’t enough to sustain everything we do. SafeBAE relies on ongoing support from people like you to continue offering free peer educator training, school presentations, and resources for survivors. If you believe in prevention education and want to see programs like the Summer Activist Institute continue to grow, here’s how you can take action:
